Admissions
Your recovery begins with one call.
Start Your Journey
For many of the young adults we treat, a parent makes the first call — and that is exactly how it should be. Whether you are reaching out for yourself or for your child, our Milwaukee team makes the process simple and judgment-free. One confidential conversation covers everything: an assessment, insurance verification, and a clear plan, often the same day.
We bring families into the process from the very beginning, because a young person's recovery is stronger when the people who love them understand it. If Milwaukee Rehab is the right fit, we coordinate the next steps; if a different level of care suits better, we will say so honestly and help you find it. Every call is free and confidential.

What to Bring
Packing for treatment is simple, and families are welcome to help. Here is what we recommend bringing to Milwaukee Rehab:
- Valid photo ID and your insurance card
- A list of current medications (or the medications in their original containers)
- Comfortable, casual clothing for 7 to 10 days, including warm layers for Milwaukee weather
- Athletic shoes for the fitness center and lakefront walks
- Toiletries without alcohol as an ingredient
- A small amount of cash and comfort items, such as family photos
Please leave at home alcohol, drugs, weapons, and valuables. Phone use is permitted during limited hours, family visits are scheduled on weekends, and pets are not permitted on campus.
FAQ
How long does treatment last?
It depends on what your young adult needs. Medical detox usually runs 3 to 7 days, residential treatment 30 to 90 days, and outpatient care 2 to 12 weeks. We will recommend a length based on the assessment and keep families informed at every step, so no one is left guessing.
My child is resistant to treatment. Can you still help?
Yes — reluctance is one of the most common things we see, especially in young adults. Our team uses motivational approaches that meet people where they are rather than forcing change. Many patients who arrive angry or scared tell us later that the first few days turned that fear into trust. Families do not have to wait for a "perfect" moment to reach out.
Is detox medically supervised?
Yes. Detox here is conducted under 24/7 physician and nursing care, with medication-assisted treatment when appropriate. For a parent worried about a child going through withdrawal, this is exactly the safety supervised detox provides — far safer than attempting it at home.
How involved can our family be?
As involved as you would like. We build family therapy and education into care because a young person's recovery is far stronger when the whole family understands it. Studies link family involvement to better retention and lower relapse — and it helps everyone heal, not just the patient.
What insurance do you accept?
Most major carriers, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Molina Healthcare, WellCare, Beacon Health Options, and MultiPlan, plus Medicare and Medicaid. Not sure about your plan? Call us and we will verify your family's benefits for you, usually the same day.
How do we get started?
Call (414) 373-2355 any time, day or night. Whether you are the young adult seeking help or a parent making the first call, an admissions specialist will guide your family through the assessment and insurance with patience and confidentiality.
